NGC 104 is also known as 47 Tucanae and is one of the finest globular clusters in the sky. To the naked eye it appears as a fuzzy fourth magnitude star but binoculars reveal its true nature. NGC 362 is another globular cluster but this one can not be seen unaided.
The Small Magellanic Cloud or SMC is a small, irregular satellite galaxy to our own. It is visible to the naked eye as a hazy patch of light but binoculars or a small telescope reveal clusters and nebulae within it.
