Scorpius
Although M4 is one of the closest globular clusters
to Earth, binoculars are still necessary in order to see it.
Open clusters M6 (the Butterfly Cluster)
and M7 (Ptolemy's Cluster) are both
visible to the naked eye. M80 is another
globular cluster.
Other Deep Sky Objects
NGC 6231 is a distant open star cluster,
visible through binoculars.

first magnitude star and has a
distinctly reddish hue.

- Graffias is the brighter of the two components of
this double star.
