Messier Objects

M29 and M39 are open clusters, visible through binoculars.

Other Deep Sky Objects

NGC 6826 is the Blinking Planetary, a planetary nebula visible through telescopes. NGC 6992 is the famous Veil Nebula, part of the Cygnus Loop complex which is actually the remains of an exploded star. NGC 7000, the North American Nebula, is so called because in long exposure it takes the outline of the North American continent.

Cygnus X-1 is one of the strongest x-ray sources in the sky and is possibly a black hole. Just visible to the naked eye, 61 Cygni is one of the closest stars to the Sun and the first one successfully observed for parallax.
