Crux
Deep Sky Objects
NGC 4755 is the Jewel Box, an open
star cluster visible to the naked eye. Binoculars or a small telescope
reveals the individual stars which are a variety of colours. In constrast,
the Coalsack is a dark nebula that obscures the light of the
Milky Way behind it.

first magnitude binary star.

- Mimosa is also known as
Becrux and is
first magnitude.
- gamma
- Gacrux is a wide double star.
