The globular cluster M53 is visible through a small telescope. The spiral galaxy M64 is sometimes known as the Blackeye Galaxy on account of a dark cloud of dust which is silhouetted against the its center. All of the galaxies in the south region of this constellation belong to the Virgo Cluster. M85 is a bright lenticular galaxy whilst M88, M98, M99 and M100 are spirals, and M91 is a barred spiral galaxy. A telescope is necessary in order to see these distant objects.
NGC 4565 is yet another spiral galaxy in the Virgo Cluster.
