Messier Objects

M44 is better known as the Beehive Cluster, an open star cluster over 500 light years distant. Much farther away is another open star cluster, M67.

Other Deep Sky Objects

G 51-15 is a nearby neighbour of the Sun. Lying at a distance of nearly 12 light years, it shines at a feeble fifteenth magnitude.

Tegmine is the brightest component of a multiple star. A small telescope will show two objects but the brighter one is actually a binary.
